Baobab Marine was initially established to give yachts traversing the Pacific the option to have skilled repairs, maintenance and quality fabrications carried out in Fiji year round. Our services compliment the Fijian Archipelago as the ultimate alternative destination, a convenient pit stop for some upkeep, whilst maintaining competitive prices to neighbouring New Zealand and Australia.
We provide a range of services for all types of yachts and marine pleasure crafts and as the leading recommended yacht specialists we are committed to offering our clients all round competence and quality second to none in Fiji.
The company is led by Brian Smith, who began his career in diesel mechanics for heavy transport. After selling up his business interests in 1989 he embarked on a new chapter that would involve the construction of his customised yacht in Cape Town, sailing adventures and eventually Fiji where he saw an opportunity to invest his skills and experience together with local co-director Willie Amoe - our master painter who was trained under the expert eye of Robert Aukett in New Zealand.
Our main facility is located a stone’s throw from Vuda Point Marina near the port of Lautoka. We are the largest marine contractor in terms of in house services available and with the opening of our new branch at Port Denarau Marina in June 2010, our services are now readily accessible at Fiji's largest commercial marina.
